Even though rap is known as being "tough" and about "drugs", or "women" - in other words, everything but lovely - it's often about love. Or, at least when it comes to old-school-rap. It's much more often about giving an honest inlook at their lives - in the artists' lives - than about "not being loving".
Today, hip-hop's a joke, and really doesn't say anything. And that's not because the ar

tists are stupid, but because they want to make money; and money is made through being superficial.
Let's list some of the better rap love songs, and talk about them. One, that comes to my mind, is dance with NAS (Nas being a real old-school legend, in the genre). This song is about his dead mother, and he paints some jawdroppingly beautiful metaphorical images. This is, which many - of the people who are not wellversed about oldschool-hiphop - woul doubt, a very mellow song. He doesn't, like Eminem does in a few of his songs, rap about his mother in negative ways, but, as opposed to that, it's a love song if there ever was one.
There's another great one, out of the rap love songs, which is about the artist's mother. And the artist in question is someone that probably noone can have missed - Tupac.  This song is very appreciating of his mother, and storytelling. You get drawn into the story about how he, even though he did return home, he didn't think he would ever see his mother again. And - which, if anything, should kill the myth that a rapper HAS to be aggressive, in every way - he talks about hugging his mother.

When I wrote about that last one, I naturally - because of the theme, the atmosphere, of that song - came to think about another one of Tupac's songs. And that song is Unconditional love. Dear mama's talking about how her close ones will always be appreciative of her, no matter happens - and this is precisely the theme of unconditional love, as well. The theme being, to love someone for who they are - without needing logical reasons to do so. Even if everything else is "crazy" - which, in this case, would be another word for "unsteady" - the love does still remain (as an unchanging factor in their lives). This is true, even if people die around them.

There are several kinds of love songs that are pout in the market at present. Since love is a universal topic that has always held a special place in the hearts of all customers, it is one of the most written about, as well as sung topics. There are songs of all genres that relate to this topic, talking about everything, such as the first blush of love, to heartbreak, to even successive and insensitive flings. There are many Rap Love Songs as well, though when you talk of their percentage in their own genre; it is very minute, with only a small section of rap songs dedicated to love.

Rap Love Songs

One particularly famous and much loved of all Rap Love Songs is that of Tupac's song of Dear Mama, talking of this emotion called love. Another all-time favourite of all music-lovers is that by LL Cool J that goes by the title of I Need Love. One of the most famous rappers of all time, 50 Cents, had also come up with a love song, named 21 Questions, which spoke of all the feelings love arouses in you. Into you, performed by Fabulous is yet another great single, loved by even others who did not consider listening to rap previously, regarding it as highly insensitive and crude rendering of emotions.

Belonging to the category of Rap Love Songs, there are some others that have also witnessed love and appreciation form fans: P. Diddy who came up with his hit, I Need a Girl, that went on to become a much-loved album, by all his fans; Angie Martinez who came up with If I could Go; Seed 2.0, performed by the Roots; Miss Triniti, who sung the famous song: Based on a true story; Jay Z that came up with 03 Bonnie and Clyde; Just a friend by Biz markie.

Rap Love Songs

Other hit singles and album songs include in love with Chu, by Brat; and even Dear mama, that though would not be considered as a typical and traditional love song, talking of the greatness of falling in love and the emotions aroused, but may definitely be counted as a rap love song. Another rap song that is much loved is that of Common, by the Light. Tupac had also come up with yet another hit single that was talked of love: Unconditional Love. Though this particular selection of rap songs does not find many takers among the usual rap listeners, there is a section of staunch lovers of this genre.
